Day 1
Guiné, Gerais do Rio Preto, Mirante do Vale, and Pati de Cima
Departure 08:00 · Return 18:30 · Includes trail snack · Intense level. We depart Lençóis by car, traveling to Vila do Guiné on a route mixing paved and off-road sections, where we begin our hike. We trek through the Gerais do Rio Preto, enjoying incredible views, a refreshing river swim, and a snack break, before reaching the Mirante do Vale. We then proceed to Pati de Cima, where we'll sleep and have dinner at a local family's home.

Day 2
Cachoeiras do Rio Funis, a Grotto, and Morro do Castelo
Departure 08:00 · Return 18:30 · Includes trail snack · Intense level. After a hearty breakfast, we explore Cachoeira dos Funis, Cachoeira do Lajedo, and Morro do Castelo — boasting incredible mountain-top views and a cave crossing. We hike an average of 12 km, without carrying heavy packs. We'll sleep and have dinner at a local family's home.

Day 3
Gerais do Rio Preto and Cachoeirão from above
Departure 08:00 · Return 18:30 · Includes trail snack · Intense level. After breakfast, we leave the valley floor and head towards Cachoeirão from above — a series of waterfalls cascading into a canyon over 200 m deep, where we'll enjoy a snack and a refreshing swim in a natural pool before returning to a local family's home. On this day, we also hike without carrying any heavy packs.

When is the best time to visit Vale do Pati?
Vale do Pati captivates year-round. While the weather can be quite dynamic, summer (January to March) generally sees more rain and higher temperatures. However, this isn't a hard-and-fast rule; dry spells can occur in summer, and some winters bring precipitation. Every visit is a unique experience, and our team is dedicated to ensuring you have the best possible time, no matter the season.
What's the difference between the 3 and 5-day itineraries?
The 3-day itinerary is a circular route, entering and exiting through Guiné, and covering only the valley's upper reaches.
Our 5-day option is a full trek, beginning in Guiné and concluding in Andaraí, spanning both the upper and lower sections of Vale do Pati.
Is a good fitness level required for the Vale do Pati trek?
Yes. The route involves extended hikes with challenging climbs and descents, demanding a good fitness level.
What is the accommodation like in Vale do Pati?
Accommodation is provided in the homes of local families. These are simple homes, lovingly adapted to welcome visitors warmly. Rooms are shared, and hot showers are not available.
With an advance booking through Chapada Soul, we can often arrange private rooms for couples.
Depending on your itinerary's length, you may stay in 1, 2, or 3 different homes.
Towels and bedding are provided.
Spring water is available for refilling your water bottle. Bottled water is also available for purchase, and some travelers choose to bring water purification tablets.

During hikes, our guides provide trailside snacks; we can accommodate dietary restrictions (vegetarian, vegan, etc.) with advance notice.
Dinner and breakfast are prepared by the Pati local families, the owners of your guesthouses. These meals are served buffet-style, offering delicious, abundant, and high-quality regional cuisine.
What footwear do you recommend?
We recommend well-broken-in waterproof hiking shoes or boots. This type of footwear provides superior stability and grip.
During the rainy season, some sections of the trail may be muddy.
What kind of backpack is best?
We recommend a backpack of at least 40 liters, with good back and shoulder support.
It should comfortably fit your personal items. Avoid packing unnecessary weight.
What should I pack?
Opt for light and comfortable clothing, along with essentials like:

There is no phone signal or Wi-Fi.
Is transportation included in the itinerary?
Yes. Transportation is provided from Lençóis to the trailhead in Guiné. At the trek's conclusion, you'll be transported back to Lençóis.
Where can I store extra luggage during the trek?
While you're trekking, you can store your main luggage at our office in Lençóis.
